As you begin to search for your perfect wedding location, you will find many wedding venues to choose from. For over 10 years, Sampson’s Hollow has been hosting Brides and Grooms, families and friends for their storybook wedding on our century farm located in Walland, Tennessee. You may know of Walland, Tennessee because you have heard of Blackberry Farm, where many celebrity weddings and events have been held. Sampson’s Hollow lies along the same fenceline as Blackberry Farm in a very beautiful area of the Smokies.
Sampson’s Hollow is a century farm, passed down through our family, steeped in history and love. Meadows of wildflowers grace our land, along with special hideaway ceremony locations which include Sarah’s Glen which is the enchanted forest setting many brides dream of, The Pergola set in the middle of the meadow, the Cross and Bridge, the Bonny Red Barn, The Foundry and more.
Throughout the seasons the farm changes. Whatever season your wedding is held there is magic at the farm. Choose from our Elopement and Wedding Packages for your perfect storybook wedding.
One of the major concerns of any bride choosing to do an outdoor wedding venue is “what will we do if there is bad weather?” Our recently renovated barn has allowed Sampson’s Hollow to offer a back-up plan without the need to add a tent and to assure that guests stay dry during the ceremony and reception. Our newly designed covered front porch will now seat up to 175 guests in a traditional chapel floorplan with a panoramic view of the mountains and green pastures serving as a backdrop for the altar. The transition from ceremony to reception is made readily by the experienced staff and coordinators who provide assistance in setting up tables and chairs. The building was designed using a modified horse barn floor plan. Features of the facility include an indoor area, with warm hardwood flooring, walls and ceiling, three restrooms, two central air-conditioning units for the comfort of guests in warmer weather and central heat and a wood burning fireplace in cooler seasons.
Three barn doors open up the facility and the grounds surrounding the barn can provide ample room to seat additional guests. Availability of twelve rocking chairs on the covered front porch overlooking a panoramic view of the majestic Great Smoky Mountains on three sides with the added comfort of ceiling fans for a gentle breeze.
A half-loft on the second floor can be used as needed for the bridal party to get ready with a beautiful stairwell from which the bride can toss her bouquet. Hundreds of miniature white lights wrapped around the vaulted ceiling beam and posts within the barn area as well as around porch and adjacent trees. As the sun goes down, guests will enjoy sitting around the outdoor fire pit at the edge of the barn, swaying on the swings and relaxing in the crisp mountain air.
